Subject:Pulau Seribu!
Time:10:14 pm.
Mood: blank.
It's been four weeks since my visit to the Thousand Islands (a.k.a. Kepulauan Seribu) in the north of Jakarta, Indonesia. Yeah, my blog's being neglected for a really loooong time and I'll have to write and stack everything haphazardly...xP no wonder why it is fossilized by now. Ok. Starting from the vacation then....(WARNING: the text itself is incomprehensibly long-winded). It's only for those who are curious enough for the details....

(If I am correct enough, there will be lots of typos in the text below. Ah well.)

Lots of events are happening quite recently but I think I'll just post it in the next entry. I don't know when.

Subject:A Pale Blue Dot
Time:10:43 pm.
uh...........after a very looooooooooooooooooooong hiatus, after all of those commenting (but no updating) in LJ & DA, finally I found something that left me at least not empty-handed, but with a result as well (btw, it's a text by Carl Sagan, quite philosophical. ^___^):

Right here, here,Collapse )

At least that would be quite interesting for some readers. It could be as boring as a fermenting cookie as well, or as maudlin as local soap operas, so just take this thing up to your preference.

Subject:Happy Birthday Dzu
Time:6:06 pm.
It's been really, really, really late for now* (*apologizes* - it's been a week for a while), but then it has been widely known that the whole drama project is even more tiring than having a marathon for a week Dx. So........HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her Majesty (reguretto) who has been very generous and kindly - giving us a rare chance to see the whole classical orchestra. The musical concert was beyond sublime, and that night was as sweetly memorable as you can get. I was truly enjoying the night :D.
Thanx, reguretto !

*D'oh shame, shame for me posting this entry a week later after the actual event..... :(

Time:8:48 pm.
Hi all,
After a long hiatus of mine, I just caught myself up snagged and hooked by the Endless of Despair. I find myself really moody and somehow desperate about my surroundings, myself and mostly about my relationships with the others. I've found out that I am just the same, egotistical person who remains unchanged and latent throughout the years. I remained the same person who's gullible, attention-craver teen who has made so much of peoples around him caught bouts of nausea. I think that there are so many attempts to prove that I actually love my friends, parents, and all - but essentially failed either in the proccess or the result. I've been working hard and tried to do my best, to let them know that I am concerned about them, and even love them. And failed. I remained the human who's been flawed to the core and even the paraphrase "every human is flawed/perfection is impossible" sunk deeper. It's been a hard day, for me at least........

Subject:Dreams, dreams......
Time:6:12 pm.
Mood: confused.
Just after a long nap this afternoon, I ushered myself immediately to the front of the computer to tell you about dreams. Dreams. Strange things that would strucks us every time our eyeballs start gliding unconsciously in their niche. Only once I prepared myself for lucid dreaming (self-controlled dreaming) and that's successful, including turning a boring blue room into a whole bookstore, conjuring my friends and flying between the shelves (the entire sequence is a WILD, or Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming). Sometimes, in other dreams, I was controlling them somewhat subsconciously. For example, turning a building's architecture (a tower, from a tattered battle-worn one suddenly changed into gothic one). I found myself as rather daydreaming person who's spending his spare times by filling them with puffs of imaginations - as a result, my dreams are nothing but strange. There are a few sad scenes, frightening apparitions, but mostly nonsensical.

The dream my brain created in the nap was all about anomalous shifting scenes, including my geography teacher (a light bulb to Alizarins in here) dressed in the most capricious fashion sense : wearing a powdered wig and lacy tuxedo which is downright weird. He ordered about a ton of books, all of them are about Biology (which I would happily devour), but in one condition: I have to pay it by myself, and the whole series cost one million dollar. The clip shifts suddenly into an image of my old house, the dining room (I have moved from the previous location) in which I accidentally squashed one of the toads in the toad infested house. Somehow, I've been dreaming about my old house, the very place I growed up and my grandmother's house - I told this to my mother and she said that I missed a lot my past; which is not only a possibility, but also a truth. Then, immediately, I was introduced to a character named Elizabeth (Betha) Maxillae, a beautiful girl with an outwardly polite mannerism; in the time of her angers, she would chew anything that came close to her mouth or anyone adjacent to her - me myself and her closest friends brought the most durable teething toys for her to chew on in her distressed moments. And then I was told that she is Umbridge's niece by someone.

Another dream was about camping in the wild, which includes several strangest things to do - including: a washing yourself down in a waterfall, in order to get a horde of beneficial symbionts (pinkish, 40 centimetre long worms which squirms in your ears and mouth and aquatic insects with long legs, cleaning your scalp from dandruffs and your face from acnes) which are being useful as cleaners to your gastrointestinal tract; b. being phoned by your old friend...you don't know he's actually a psychopath until he yells and sending you flame sms without any known reason; c. and playing Quidditch. However, there are strangely beautiful dreams, which would incorporate my object of ambition, like a vast blue sea with its inhabitants within. These dreams often work in unearthly ways and not in the ways I recalled as familiar or as I predicted.

If there are oneironauts or dream psychologists out there, please have a visit, tell me your opinion and analyze the entropy I have written.

note: the name Maxillae, turned up without even knowing it, actually means "jaws". Perhaps the meaning was hiding in the back of my brain.....

Subject:I'm back !
Time:9:49 pm.
Mood: grumpy.
Finally, back from a chaotic dormancy of three (or four) weeks. I haven't posted anything in a period before this Sunday, and now it would be a lie to tell you that the school's homeworks are not distressing me. Now, I cannot stop this gluttony to stop eating anything spicy or sweet :D - it was sparked by an event in October, and wish I could prune away the old habit. For the OKS summary, you can take a look on diva_sama's page, it was recorded quite accurately. However, I was journeying an adventure of my own, by being showered alive, asleep, by a fabric imperfection on the top of tent. The resulting next day doesn't allow me to use my jacket because it's waterlogged all over, and I have to move to the main, larger tent, evacuated from the previous one. I was having a rather irritating fiasco when moving up through the mountain (one of my friend kept annoying me by the fact that one of the challenges runs smoothly, until I came and got disbalanced on those squishy old tires, falling from the perch three times and got disqualified. Then, my group was merely receiving two blue ribbons, while the others got three or four (none of them got five, the final challange is unsurpassably difficult), much to my group's dismay. The friend I mentioned before was teasing me over and over, until we're all leaving and back home. However, I have to say that I was entertained in the supposedly campfire night (it was changed into a sort of stage performances done in the main tent/platoon because of the unending rain), quite happy when trekking up the montane jungle (what a scenery - I wish I could bring back home some of the wild ginger berries and torch gingers and mosses and ferns and vines and planting them in my garden) while ignoring him, and was positively blissful in the bus back home. At the dawn of the second day, the path between the girl's tents has somewhat turned into a three-inch thick chocolate pudding by rain, and my seniors say that it's like walking over a pigsty; with your sandals sticking and buried. Requiem for the graveyard of honourable sandals - those who surpassed the challenges of inanimate life, for their bravery crossing the hostile earth and become martyrs, slaves of deranged humans, squashed below their stinky toes. Not to mention the accidents happenned and fainting friends (lydia, diva_sama, hana....) - however, it's been a good experience for us and I think I'm going to submit myself as one of the mentors next year.

Next week's memorable experience is when hitode/mizudako (me), hotategai (monique), tooro (diva_sama), iruka/kurage (zhey), isoginchaku (ookay...not exactly. It's lydia-sama) and uni (let's say it's ryan) are memorizing lines from the icons of the pop-culture in the usual Chemistry-Class-Club-Of-Us (C3OS, or tricarbon oxygen sulfide), somehow it had ended spectacularly and humorously. Now, thanks to diva_sama, I'm now listening the lovely Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack, most favorably the Masquerade (its witty lyrics is wonderful to be heard) Angel of Music and Think of Me. Namako (luthfi) has been crammed in the hospital because of dengue, but now he's healthy and free to squash all of us with his taunts xD. That's my rambling, and now I'm back to my homeworks, projects, and the hunting for exotic tropical plants. reguretto, please tell ditZuka that we missed her a lot :D.

Subject:preparing myself for two nights of journey
Time:10:25 pm.
Mood: anxious.
Somehow, the dread or rather, the mixed feeling seems to infuse my brain once more. Gw g tau harus gimana sama OKS - gw persiapin sebisa gw, dan gw sangat berharap guru-guru dan kakak-kakak kelas konsekuen sama kata-katanya: g bakal ada yg namanya penggojlokan, bullying, dll. To be honest, I really hate the so-called "mental enforcing", bullying, violence, in any kind of forms, any kind of words. Gw heran bgt kenapa di Indonesia harus ada budaya yg bikin juniornya mati ketakutan - and a new year in a new junior highschool/highschool/university/whatever could become the most dreadful experiences for us. (if you think that I'm somewhat have become a sort of wimpy person, I've suffered all of these since I was four, persistently; it's horrible and those things got to be blamed for all of my traumas, until now, I can't remove them from my mind. It still pains). I do understand that all seniors need to be respected, but not in such violent and cruel way, like in some cases in a prominent military school in this country. Utk reguretto, selamat ya, it seems that we're all going to miss you a lot :). Keep updating your LJ and share your experiences with us ! Take care....

Oh ya, gw g sabaran juga hiking di kegiatannya. I love nature, so I would consider an absence from the activity as another void of experience, as long those outlined above don't happen to anyone, including all of my friends.

Subject:Skrewt It Up !
Time:7:55 pm.
Mood: anxious.
Just two hours before the sunset yesterday, we begin the most awaited movie in the year: Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. Together with reguretto, diva_sama, and many others of my friends, we watched GoF in the nearest cinema/theater.
To sum it up (may contain spoilers) :
  • The SPFXs throughout the movie are absolutely stunning. Except for a few flaws like when Harry escapes the dragon, a graphic flaw that may occur when using motion blur. Personally, I crave the effects of the Quidditch World Cup, wizard apparitions, the rebirth of the Dark Lord, and especially the whole underwater scene. I just love the merpeoples, the grindylows and the aquatic landscape (which is made by CG in entirety - I wonder how long the rendering takes time). Also worth mentioning are the animatronic dragon, the vast maze and the pensieve.
  • The Third Task - the maze, while many fans - including myself - are quite well disappointed for the absence of monsters like sphinxes or skrewts (well, they would appear later in the games), I admired the concept of "mind-boggling, mentally agonizing challenge" because it worked well, portrayed perfectly in Fleur's face. Or maybe it's just because the plants :B. Have yourself spending a week in such place, and I shall beg the Guinness Book of Records foundation to include you to the list, 'the most mentally resistant human in the world'.
  • The Quidditch World Cup. Yeah, my friend of mine, Andes, gets really upset because only the opening is shown. Formerly, Mike Newell planned to create the entire scene of it, unfortunately WB cut it up for the reason that many non-readers of Harry Potter dislike Quidditch or house-elves (maybe this is one of many reasons Winky and Dobby don't present in the movie)
  • So, the gillyweed should be given to Harry by Neville Longbottom (next time I meet him, I would babble about Nepal anti-gravity trees)
  • The acting is improved greatly, especially Dan's. Emma's good too, and finally Rupert fixed up that serious look on his face. I laughed hard when teenage awkwardness being quite prominent throughout the movie. I must say that Clemence Poesy's style of acting was realistic and impressive. Magnifique.
  • Finally, Gred and Forge show their actual wits on jokes (bumbling, babbling band of baboons...) and prominence throughout the show.
  • Cedric's death is really touching. The audiences and the cheery music is still playing, not realizing that somebody is dead until Fleur shrieked.
  • However, I dislike on how Dumbledore and Voldemort are portrayed. Dumbledore seems to lost his grip, become aggressive and somehow doesn't looked really wise and nice anymore, while Voldemort babbles about too much, doesn't looked cold and scary at all. With six death eaters. Yeah.
  • Bad, bad editing. Choppy.
  • Mad-eye Moody turned up much more scarier and intimidating than Voldemort. And dear, the spider's not a spider !it's an amblypygid a.k.a tailess whip-scorpion.
  • Plot-wise, the movie is great, with some unpredictable and hilarious scenes. If somehow, you feel the urge to throw your shoes against the screen, remember that it is virtually impossible to fit the entire book into 2 hours and half movie. So, separate the thoughts of the book and the movie.
  • I would say the movie is the greatest HP movie yet, while having its own flaws due to time and restrictions given.

Time:4:31 pm.
Mood: ditzy.
We never eat bread cookies
For cookies have yeast,
And one little bite
Turns a man to a beast
O, can you imagine
A sadder disgrace
Than a man in the gutter
With crumbs on his face?
-- Song of the Salvation Army (trad.)

......heheheheheh.

Another thing that concerns me today is something about a mysterious, extinct religious sect, who venerate only the Past, which is absolute, unchangeable, without future (that's weird) - namely, Laudatores Temporis Acti (the Latin tag was given by a seventeenth-century Portuguese captain). Perhaps they are purely mythological, because it was written here. Mythological beasts and beings sure fascinates me, however, this one's really strange. The text itself is a bit difficult to read, either becuse of extensive use of jargons, or the text simply being a bit gibberish and difficult to follow - so I don't know if my interpretation above is right or wrong.

Time:11:26 pm.
Mood: giddy.
To be honest, this is the most ridiculous song I've ever heard. Good for anyone who's going to have a chemistry exam in the very next minute after this xD.

(note that you will need a good Internet connection and a Flash Player embedded in your system.) click here. Two rather similar songs, sung by Mr. Ray in Finding Nemo ("Let's name the species, the species" and "The Zones of the Open Sea") are actually pastiche for Tom Lehrer's musical conception. Let's see if I could recite Mr. Ray's song........epipelagic...... mesopelagic...... bathypelagic............

I think this one would be an excellent (read: ridiculous, hilarious) present for our chemistry teacher :D

Pirate Monkey's Harry Potter Personality Quiz
Harry Potter Personality Quiz
by Pirate Monkeys Inc.

Explanation of the Results: This type of personality test uses four indexes of personality and the combination of the four is your personality type. The first index relates to how you interact with other people and can be Extroverted (E), meaning you're more outgoing or Introverted (I), meaning you keep more to yourself. The second relates to how you make decisions; whether you're Intuitive (N), getting answers from within, or you rely on Sensing (S) information from your surroundings, using your five senses. The third relates to whether you're more emotional and Feeling (F) or rational and Thinking (T). The fourth relates to whether you prefer things to be organized, meaning you're Judging (J), or you prefer things to be more unbound, meaning you're Perceiving (P).

Subject:a movie review - and a requiem
Time:11:26 pm.
Mood: contemplative.
Second entry.....
I can't wait for the grandiose year's movie, harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I must say the set, cinematography, creature designs, conception of ideas - and perhaps the actions - are spectacular. They've been working throughout the year and wish all of the hard works paid (However - do you really think the Hogwarts lake is really a marine loch ? a giant squid and other briny paraphernalia lived there). I was really surprised to see Karkaroff actually being placed in a sort of a torture cage full of spike pointing deep to the center. I would be surprised if the cage is going to be used again in the fifth's - where Harry has to attend a Hearing. Really cool though - great idea. On the other hand, I criticize the use of powerful strobe lights for the Quidditch World Cup and other unorthodox things (take a look on the photo of Weasley's tent interior - obviously they have modern prints and motifs on the sofa and everywhere). I prefer the feel and the look of archaic or classical wizarding civilization; where modern technology simply won't work, and everything has to be done magically. The costumes, though revolutionary, it's as though the muggle fashion sense has penetrated deep to the community - remember that the wizards could wear skirts for disquise, unknowingly, even though skirts were designed for women. (Those are my critics though, to be frank, and remember diversity in opinion is just fine - don't get flammable for that)

Anyway.......perhaps it's really, really too late to post this one, but I feel a deep sympathy to everyone who has become victims to the recent bombings. Surprisingly, my uncle got out of the restaurant just several minutes before the bombing. Miraculous - and thank God. I cannot understand why would anyone prefer terrorism to a peaceful rural life. I abhor those who evoked God's name to kill and to torture without a good reason; and obviously everyone who loves terrorism, violence, conflict and evil things.

It is not only the matters of reduced number of human population, but how about the deep, miserable psychological pain inflicted to the relatives and the surviving victims ?

Oh - Happy Birthday to Librans (Me myself included - third October ! yay. :)
